“Bright Snacks:Learn about the "Super Trio"”

There are some great health benefits from consuming the "Super Trio" seeds.  Since most schools don't usually teach us about these things, I thought it might make a neat service project to have students create an awareness campaign around how easy it is to integrate healthy eating inside their own communities.  I have also added some resources to the RIGHT>>

  1. HEMP PROTEIN

Hemp is vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, trans fat-free, cholesterol free, and THC-free. It is a complete protein which is easily absorbed in our bodies. Moreover, it provides the essential fatty acids, fiber, vitamins and minerals our bodies need to function.
  2. FLAX SEEDS

Flaxseeds are the #1 source of lignans in the human diet, which provide us tons of fiber and anti-oxidants. Flaxseeds may have cardiovascular benefits because they increase our anti-inflammatory protection and their mucilage content helps improve digestion.
  3. CHIA SEEDS

Chia seeds are the highest plant source of omega-3 fatty acids. These seeds offer loads of fiber and are a low glycemic index food, meaning that they help decrease blood sugar spikes. It is believed that chia seeds promote stronger bones and decrease risk of heart disease, bad cholesterol and diabetes. Though sometimes debated, chia seeds are often associated with weight loss, because they keep many people feeling full for longer!
